I create landart installations using organic materials,
mostly in a site-specific way.
If
I work generally outside, I bring my work sometimes in galleries
(see http://www.ville.gatineau.qc.ca/artimage/expo.htm).
I love sharing this wonderful creative process with young
and less young people during projects that end up in the
creation of collective works.
I
am intrigued by how the creation of a separate piece or
space on a given location will alter the ability
of a visitor to perceive an emotional response. Even for
a short time, the visitor becomes a dweller, reflecting
upon the site, its history, his/her own path and feelings.
I
have been living the site at Eco Echo for several months;
marching it, meeting new people, absorbing seasonal changes
and political influxes, reading emotions. Several works
have emerged. The land speaks, my hands move and I am still
surprised. I hope you'll be surprised and moved...
Je crée des installations landart en utilisant des
matières organiques, en général spécifiquement
à un site.
Si
je le fais la plupart du temps en extérieur, j'amène
parfois mes oeuvres en galerie

). J'adore partager ce processus de création avec
des jeunes et des moins jeunes lors de projets qui aboutissent
à la production d'oeuvres collectives.
Je
suis intrigué par l'impact qu'une œuvre particulière
a sur la capacité du visiteur à percevoir
ses propres émotions. Même pour un temps limité,
le visiteur devient un habitant qui réagit au site,
à son histoire, à son propre cheminement et,
avant tout, à ses sentiments.
J'ai
vécu le site Eco Echo pendant plusieurs mois ; je
l'ai marché, j'ai fait des rencontres, absorbé
les changements saisonniers et les influences politiques,
j'ai lu les émotions. Plusieurs œuvres ont émergé.
La Terre parle, mes mains s'agitent et je suis toujours
surpris. J'espère que vous serez tout autant surpris
et émus…
